  • Prepared mail templates for outreach to community-based organizations to partner with for this project
  • Registered Kaurage, Inc. in the New York City PASSPort vendor portal and submitted the bid on their behalf

The Challenge

As a recently established nonprofit, Kaurage Inc. was as new to the nonprofit organization in New York City as they were to the contracting process. But when the New York City Human Resources Administration’s Department of Social Services issued an RFP for the Immigration Opportunity Initiative and Low-Wage Worker Legal Services on behalf of the Office of Civil Justice, Kaurage knew they wanted to respond.

Kaurage’s broader mission is to address systemic barriers facing immigrant and low-wage worker communities. They were ready to help strengthen the City’s immigrant legal services network while building a sustainable, independent presence across the New York City boroughs. They knew their company structure, foresight, and leadership demonstrated that they could deliver services on par with long-established providers while also introducing fresh efficiency and creativity to the process.

With an experienced immigration law firm on board as a subcontracting partner, Kaurage could draw from an established, proven local network with a built-in base of experienced operations infrastructure that met all program requirements in the RFP opportunity. Not only was Kaurage gearing up to establish offices in all five New York City boroughs, but they were also quickly gathering everything they needed to make their contract bidding debut. However, they still needed to iron out a branded content library, portal registration, and other necessary materials. So, with the clock ticking on their upcoming bid, they knew they’d benefit from extra help.

Enter The Bid Lab.

The Solution

To address Kaurage Inc.’s needs and tackle the challenges presented by the RFP, The Bid Lab implemented a comprehensive proposal solution with four subproject components:

  • Portal Registration
  • Email Outreach Templates
  • Branded Resume Formatting
  • Capabilities Statement

Our team conducted a detailed analysis of the RFP requirements. This way, we could ensure compliance and alignment with the goals of the NYC Human Resources Administration’s Office of Civil Justice.

By identifying and organizing the necessary supporting documents, we streamlined the portal registration process by gathering all required documentation in a timely manner. We developed a capabilities statement for their subcontractor as well.

We then created a compelling narrative that highlighted Kaurage’s qualifications, innovative service delivery models, and commitment to meeting the legal needs of the community.

This collaborative approach allowed Kaurage to focus on their core operations while we expertly managed the intricacies of the proposal, ultimately positioning them as a competitive vendor in the market.

“The Bid Lab’s project management expertise is second to none. They helped us with an incredibly complex vendor portal registration AND submission process. These experts are the real deal.”

-Pertinderjit Hora, Founder, Kaurage, Inc.

The Results of the Engagement

The Bid Lab helped Kaurage do more than just develop a proposal response. In addition to over 150+ pages of professionally developed custom proposal responses, we helped develop a certified content library. It’s a treasure trove of content that’s bursting at the seams with beautifully branded resumes and email outreach template materials. The subcontracting law firm also received a custom capabilities statement.

With this library of content, Kaurage can now deploy an arsenal of outreach and partnership tools. They have what they need to expand upon their efforts to fulfill their mission in New York.

With all their assets available in one convenient, easily accessible location, they can update, edit, and build out their information. Should they decide to pursue future RFPs, they’ll have the necessary scaffolding in place to create a new proposal response. And, best of all, the entire project from start to finish was completed in a total of just seven weeks.
