Forney, Texas Parks Fertilization and Ant-Control RFP

The City of Forney is requesting proposals from qualified vendors to provide Parks Fertilization and Ant-Control.

Scope of Work

The City of Forney’s park system includes 268 acres of parkland and four different types of parks. The existing park system includes mini-parks, neighborhood parks, community parks and undeveloped parkland. The areas in the City of Forney Parks and Recreation Department that are included in this bid consist of:

  • Forney ISD Administrative Field
  • Bell Park
  • Caboose Park
  • Eastside Park
  • Forney Community Park
  • Hamblen Park
  • Heritage Hill Park
  • Mulberry Park (Fields and Open Areas)
  • Mustang Creek Park


The Landscape Maintenance Proposer(s) shall furnish all labor, equipment, tools, services, skills, etc. required to complete the fertilization and pest control. Below is the minimum annual maintenance (January – December) requirements for herbicide/pesticide application that is required

  • Round 1 – Liquid pre-emergent weed control for grassy weeds such as Crabgrass, as well as broadleaf weed control as needed. Balanced fertilizer for re-growth following dormancy
  • Round 2 – Liquid pre-emergent weed control for extended control of Crabgrass. High-rate fertilizer to meet plants needs during spring growth.
  • Round 3 – Fertilizer with slow release and soluble nitrogen to gradually feed your lawn in the heat of summer as well as Dallisgrass treatment.
  • Round 4 – Balanced fertilizer containing both slow and soluble nitrogen. Insect control for turf-damaging insects as needed.
  • Round 5 – Balanced fertilizer to promote new shoot and root growth in the fall following the stress placed on the turf by the heat of summer. Spot treatment of Broadleaf weeds.
  • Round 6 – Liquid pre-emergent weed control to prevent germination of winter annuals. Broadleaf weed control as needed. Year-end inspection
