Pittsburgh Independence Day Celebration Fireworks RFP
The City of Pittsburgh is soliciting proposals for qualified professionals and/or firms to provide a fireworks show for the City’s Independence Day Celebration on Thursday, July 4, 2024.
Scope of Work
The City is currently seeking proposals for a show similar in scope and length as the 2023 display (25 minutes at the confluence of the three rivers). The Office of Special Events will again be producing the official 2024 celebration, including the fireworks display.

The City seeks to engage professionals and firms with expertise in the following areas:
Prospective vendors will be required to provide:
- Team qualification
- Proposed work plan
- Proposed schedule, and other related items as part of the proposal submittal.
- The awarded contractor will meet with City staff to discuss all aspects of the fireworks show.
Selected firm is required to provide the Bureau of Fire the following:
- Certificate of Liability insurance
- Fireworks site safety plan
- Fireworks display permit
- Barge lay-out
- Barge site plan
- Scheduling of load in dates, and escorts.
- Emergency Action Plan to the City.
- Schedule any inspections and provide any documentation as required by the City’s Bureau of Fire.

Lastly, the deadline to submit proposals is due at 5:00pm EST on Friday March 8, 2024
