University of Connecticut Student Health Insurance RFP
The University of Connecticut is seeking proposals from qualified Student Health Insurance providers to enter into a University-wide contract.
Scope of Work
The University is a Land, Sea, and Space Grant consortium institution. The main campus is located in Storrs, Connecticut and regional campuses located throughout Connecticut. Regional campuses include Avery Point in Groton, Stamford, Waterbury, and Hartford.
This Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued by the University with the intent to establish a primary vendor to provide a Student Health Insurance Plan as long as the following circumstances prevail:
- Renewal premium rates are deemed to be reasonable when comparing the previous three year’s premium paid to the “claims paid out”.
- All plan services (including timely and meaningful reporting) have been provided at the level and quality as desired by the University.
- The successful bidder must be both capable and willing to provide the services as specified for the University.
In soliciting bids, the University intends to establish a single primary source for these services. If, in the University’s opinion, savings can be realized by using additional service providers, the University will reserve the right to do so. The University will also reserve the right to negotiate by line item prior to any award and place orders in any manner deemed by the University to be in its best interest. The University reserves the right to make multiple awards resulting from this Request for Proposal should it believe that it would be in its best interest to do so.
