Seasonal Recreation Programs RFP
The Virginia-based Town of Herndon Parks and Recreation Department (HPRD) is seeking proposals from individuals or organizations to provide seasonal classes and/or camp programs to its residents.
Vendors, you will not run into a lack of indoor or outdoor space to execute your program(s)! Therefore, whatever the activity’s intention, HPRD facilities include:
- Firstly, the Herndon Community Center, which includes an indoor lap pool, gymnasium, fitness room and studio, arts and crafts room, preschoolers classroom, catering kitchen and multiple meeting rooms.
- Additionally, adjacent to the Community Center is Bradley Park, which offers a playground, lit synthetic turf soccer field, lit outdoor basketball courts, six (6) lit tennis courts (three (3) covered seasonally), and lit softball and baseball diamonds.
- Finally, there are ten (10) additional parks in the Town of Herndon for vendors to utilize for programs.
Moreover, if you need extra inspiration, HPRD provides a list of suggestions for camp or class activities:
- Skateboarding
- Baseball
- Multiple Sports
- Softball
- Soccer
- Lacrosse
- Basketball
- Field Hockey
- Volleyball
- Cricket
- Flag Football
There is no age limit to program activities that vendors may propose. However, HPRD outlines appropriate age groupings as preschool two (2)-five (5) years, youth six (6)-12 years, teens 13-17 years, adults 18 years and older, and seniors 65 years and older.

“The HPRD enriches the lives of its diverse residents, serves as stewards of Town resources, and fosters a sense of community by providing engaging, accessible and valued parks, facilities and recreation programs complementing those provided by Fairfax County.
Important Submission Information
Vendors must provide all labor, personnel, expertise, equipment, materials and other resources required for the performance of services as outlined within the RFP’s Scope of Work.
