San Francisco Veterinary Services RFP

San Francisco International Airport seeks proposals from qualified firms to provide primary care and specialty care veterinary services for the San Francisco Police Department’s (SFPD) Airport Bureau (AB) Canine Unit.

Scope of Work

This Solicitation is being issued by the Airport who is seeking Proposers to provide Canine Primary Care Veterinary Services and/or Canine Specialty Veterinary Services to the SFPD-Airport Bureau Canine Unit. The services being procured through this Solicitation are set forth below.

A. Service Area 1 – Canine Primary Care Veterinary Services

• General Veterinary Services, including, but not limited to:
  • Prompt and appropriate veterinary services during normal working hours and weekends (7am-6pm, Monday-Saturday)
  • Routine and as-needed physical examinations
  • Medications
  • Dietary food and supplements
  • Disease prevention, such as immunizations
  • Treatment for illnesses and injuries
• Surgical services such as spay/neuter, removal of foreign bodies & benign skin growth, both scheduled and emergency
• Dental Services including cleaning and extractions, both scheduled and emergency Medical boarding (kennel) facilities, including food, exercise, and kennel services on an asneeded basis.
• Management and oversight of the work of the Registered Veterinary Technicians who provide care to the Canines.
• Cleary articulated reports about the condition, treatment of, and/or recommendations for an animal cared for by the Contractor (e.g. after-care summaries; potential recommended care for additional treatments).

Service Area 2 – Canine Specialty Veterinary Services

• Specialty treatment services
  • Oncology
  • Cardiology
  • Neurology/Neurosurgery
  • Ophthalmology
• Integrative Medicine/Rehabilitation
  • Acupuncture
  • Chiropractic
  • Water therapy

Emergency Veterinary Services –

Emergency Services include all canine veterinary services indicated in Service Areas 1 and 2, provided on an as-needed basis, available twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, 365 days per year when such services are not available from the Primary Care Veterinary Services provider. C. As-Needed Services Additional veterinary services as required.
